We have seen many styles come and go over the years, but the seven featured here are still standing strong.

1. Coco Chanel debuted the little black dress in 1926. Black had previously been reserved for Clergy or people in mourning. It
wasn't until the Great Depression in the '30s that women saw the genius of a simple dress you could get cheap that would
never go out of style....the rest is history.

2. The '40s Trend: Menswear which was popularized by actresses such as Katherine Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich.

3. The '50s Trend: Pencil skirts-the best reason to adore Dior: the French designer created the pencil skirts popularized by the
era's stylish first lady Jackie Kennedy. The silhouette still flatters all shapes, as it sleek-ifies the hips and elongates the legs.

4. The '60s Trend: Minis-British designer Mary Quant's shorter-than-ever-before skirts captured the rebellious spirit of the
decade and quickly became a favorite for stylish women on both sides of the pond.

5. The '70s Trend: Platforms-the platform was first introduced in the '40s and the style exploded into the '70s when even
men's soles soared to airy, disco-ready heights.

6. The '80s Trend: Sexy jeans-when model of the decade Brooke Shields breathily declared "nothing comes between me
and my Calvins," jeans suddenly went from sporty weekend wear to a glam wardrobe staple.

7. The '90s Trend: Minimalism-designers of the '90s offered sleek neutral-tone fashion. The less-is-more vibe that has lasted.
